The River Trails Park District maintains professionally trained lifeguards and staff. They are required to enforce rules and regulations to ensure a safe and healthy facility for you and your family. Your cooperation in following our rules and regulations is much appreciated. Copies of rules can be obtained at the pool office or at the Weiss Community Center.
Understand that lifeguards are on duty to enforce rules and respond to emergencies - not to supervise children;
Even when a lifeguard is present, always provide adult supervision while children are in or around the water;
Do not rely on swimming lessons, life preserves, or other floatation devices to keep a child safe;
Never leave small children alone in the wading pools or other open standing water;
Remove all water from pails, buckets and other containers immediately after use;
Because of the risk posed by toilets, do not leave young
children alone in bathrooms;
Maintain gates and fences around residential pools;
Be prepared to respond in an emergency - Become certified in CPR!
You can save lives by educating yourself and others. (Information provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health, National Recreation and Park Association and the Park District Risk Management Agency.)
