February 25, 2022,
On Monday, February 28, with the anticipation of the Governor lifting the state’s mask and vaccination mandate, the River Trails Park District is preparing to align their procedures with the Governor’s announcement, while being cognizant that additional information and/or restrictions may also be issued.
- Masks will no longer be required in all indoor public places
- Proof of vaccination for patrons in businesses covered by the order will no longer be required
The District is still recommending patrons wear masks. Although masks will not be required, there will be residents who choose to continue to wear a mask – especially those who are immunocompromised and children under the age of 5 who are not eligible to be vaccinated. River Trails Park District expects kindness and respect towards all fellow patrons and staff who may or may not choose to wear a mask.
CCDPH continues to recommend masking in any crowded indoor public setting where physical distancing cannot be maintained such as at large indoor events. River Trails Park District may require wearing masks at specific large indoor events or specific programs which we have at-risk patrons. Prior notice will be provided for events and programs where masking will be required. The District may also require wearing masks when patrons are transported together to programs and events in park district vehicles.
RTPD will continue to monitor COVID-19 metrics and will comply with additional mitigation measures in the future based upon State and Cook County orders if the healthcare system is overwhelmed or if transmission rate increases warrant such action. If this happens, we will timely inform you of any changes.
