Transitioning to Phase Four

We update you, in regards to park district operations, with hopes that you and your family are doing well during this difficult time. The health and safety of our residents and guests continue to be our top priority. Throughout the last four months, we have redeveloped our programming with your health and safety top of mind.
Beginning on Fri, June 26th, the state has entered the 4 th  Phase of the 5-Phase  Restore Illinois plan .
Phase 4 allows for gatherings of 50 people or less, with proper physical distancing of 6 feet and the continued use of face coverings when physical distancing isn’t possible.
Phase 4 also includes new guidelines for youth and recreational sports, health and fitness centers, in-person programming and more.
Playgrounds are Open:
  • Phase 4 gathering limit of no more than 50 people applies to each playground.
  • River Trails Park District will not be cleaning or sanitizing playground equipment. Please use the playground equipment at your own risk.
  • Frequent hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer are strongly recommended.
  • Face masks are highly recommended for children on the playground due to physical distancing challenges.
  • Please plan accordingly when visiting our parks and playgrounds.
Camp River Trails:
Summer is in full swing with new in-person programs. We have rebuilt and renamed our camp program, Camp River Trails based on the changes that were necessary this summer. Camp River Trails- Session One finished up this week and we are pleased to report it has been a success. Throughout the last two weeks, we saw lots of smiles and summer-fun happening, while being safe, at Weiss/Woodland Trails.
Session Two begins on Monday, June 29th. If you are looking for activity for your kids, check us out. We are able to extend a few more spots, based on Phase-4 Guidelines.
In-Person Activities and Programs:
We have a large number of programs that will be starting now with Phase 4 Guidelines in place. Enjoy in-person programs for the whole family including athletics, golf, outdoor fitness, dance – among many more options. A full list of what is available as we head into Phase 4 is listed here.
Fitness Center:
We are slated to reopen on July 6th. We have adjusted hours and limited capacity based on IDPH guidelines. We are very excited about getting you all back into the club. Please see a full list of our programs and classes available .
Skate Park : Is now open. We have been directing the community to self-regulate the capacity and physical distancing protocols. We are pleased that our residents are doing an excellent job following the guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation!
The Zone:
We are planning on opening early-July. The Zone will be running at reduced capacity and with strict guidelines so that we are able to offer the outstanding Parkour classes and programs safely to you and your family. Details will be coming soon.
