Memorial Tree Program
The River Trails Park District Branches of Remembrance Program is a great way to have a direct impact on the environmental sustainability of your local parks. Your participation in this program helps the District maintain beautiful parks, increases the ecology and enhances the beauty of our park system. This program is also a way for you to celebrate, honor and memorialize someone, an organization or life event in a memorable and lasting way.
How to Participate
STEP 1- CHOOSE A SPONSORSHIP LEVEL and SPECIES CHOICE
STEP 2- FILL OUT and SUBMIT the APPROPRIATE FORM:
STEP 3- PAY FOR YOUR SELECTION (APPROPRIATE LEVEL/FEE)
STEP 1- CHOOSE A SPONSORSHIP LEVEL
- LEVEL 3: MEMORIAL TREE with PLAQUE:
- Fee: $325 + SPECIES COST- (total cost dependent on SPECIES CHOICE below):
- With LEVEL 3, a TREE will be planted and a PLAQUE included onsite. You will receive CHOICE of PLAQUE INSCRIPTIONS, a CHOICE in TREE SPECIES, and the opportunity to choose your top 3 PARK PREFERENCES for PLACEMENT. In addition to that, you will also receive a CERTIFICATE with TREE TYPE and LOCATION of your sponsored tree!

- LEVEL 2- DONATE A NEW TREE:
- Fee: $325 (or $425)- (total cost dependent on SPECIES CHOICE below):
- With LEVEL 2, you will receive a CHOICE in TREE SPECIES and the opportunity to choose your TOP 3 PARK PREFERENCES for PLACEMENT. Plus, you will receive a CERTIFICATE with TREE TYPE and LOCATION of your sponsored tree!

- With LEVEL 1, you can ADOPT A TREE and help us maintain the beauty and environmental stability of our community. You will receive a CERTIFICATE with TREE TYPE and LOCATION of your adopted tree!

Terms, Conditions and General Information:
PLAQUE INSCRIPTION (For LEVEL 3 ONLY):
Cast Bronze Plaque dimensions are 4” H x 6” W. The plaque can hold up to 150 letters, not including the honoree’s name and tree species. Plaques are set in concrete and installed flush with the round at the base of the tree. Price includes installation. *Plaques may take up to 8 weeks for production.
DONATE A NEW TREE or MEMORIAL TREE (LEVEL 2 and 3) Terms & Conditions:
Forms accepted from 10/31 – 3/31 can potentially be included in the annual Spring planting schedule. Forms accepted from 4/1 – 9/30 can potentially be included in the annual Fall planting schedule. Trees selected for planting will be 1.5-to-2.5-inch diameters. Donors may choose the Park; however, it is up to the Park District’s discretion as to the exact Location within the preferred ark. District staff will communicate the approximate planting schedule. All planted trees are guaranteed for the first wo (2) years after purchase. In the event the tree dies within this timeframe, a new tree, size and species as originally planned, will be planted by the District.
ADOPT-A-TREE (LEVEL 1) Terms & Conditions:
Here is your chance to adopt an existing tree within the River Trails Park District inventory. Adopter can choose a specific tree that has not yet been adopted, or have one assigned by District staff. The District is not responsible to replace an adopted existing tree which is damaged by nature, becomes a safety concern or dies naturally.
All donations for the Branches of Remembrance program are tax deductible. River Trails Park District is a 501©3, all contributions are tax deductible to the full extent provided by the law. Please retain this receipt for your tax records and consult with tax counsel on the deductibility and personal tax effect of contribution. The River Trails ark & Recreation Foundation tax I.D.
