Message from the Executive Director

Explore! As you begin the transition back into the school year, don’t let go of the opportunities to continue to visit the River Trails park system. There will be plenty of outdoor and indoor programs in which to participate and ample opportunity to watch the leaves turn majestic colors this fall. Don’t forget to register for the Award winning Youth Obstacle Course Race (OCR) in October.

Dream! One of the many reasons I love working for the River Trails Park District is the innovative ideas that the staff dreams up and brings to the table. After all, that is how the OCR and Parkour came to RTPD and now ArrowTag. ArrowTag is a new program we introduced this past year and is starting to really take off, check it out in our Youth Athletic pages. And Hey!…maybe you have the next best idea. Just drop us a note and let us know what you think, it could become the next big thing at RTPD.

Discover! The River Trails Park District serves both Prospect Heights and Mount Prospect. We love being a part of two wonderful communities and having parks and facilities in each area. If you haven’t been to Rob Roy Golf Course in Prospect Heights, don’t miss it this time of year! The course offers more than just golf, there are great dining options and events. Looking for a different kind of park? Visit Maple Trails in Mount Prospect and try out the caged basketball/floor hockey court, outdoor turf volleyball court, gazebos, youth play equipment, walking and cycling path. For a full list on all our facilities and parks check the back of the
brochure and our website www.rtpd.org. Fall is a great time to get out and discover all that there is.

Come check out the benefits of enjoying Recreation at your leisure, after all, The Benefits of Recreation are Endless at the River Trails Park District.
